With the weather warming up in Champaign-Urbana, University of Illinois students may be looking to spend more time outdoors. Luckily, online classes provide the flexibility to be able to work outside! Check out this list of outdoor tables all over campus.
Siebel Center for Computer Design
If you tend to frequent the Northern side of campus, the Siebel Center for Computer Design could be a great outdoor study spot for you! The upstairs outdoor patio provides not only fresh air, but also a great view. Even while inside, the floor-to-ceiling windows can give the calming illusion of being outdoors.

Carl R. Woese Institute for Genomic Biology
The Carl R. Woese Institute for Genomic Biology is a hidden gem. Nestled in the bottom of the façade are tables for studying outdoors. The encompassing greenery and umbrellas allow students to do work surrounded by natural elements without having to worry about the glare of the sun on a computer or tablet screen.

Illini Union
Perhaps the most well-known and sought-after outdoor study spot, the Illini Union is a great place to get work done in the heart of campus. The umbrellas provide shade while the bustling quad gives not only an incredible view of green trees and grass but also makes for good people watching on study-breaks.

Undergraduate Library
The UGL is undoubtedly the most popular study-space for undergraduate students on the University of Illinois Campus. However, many forget that in addition to three floors of tables indoors, there are also tables with umbrellas just outside the building. Here, students can escape the hustle and bustle of the UGL and replace the sounds of chatter with those of nature.

Oak Street Library Facility
Tucked away behind Senior Land, the Oak Street Library Facility is a relatively unknown building on campus. Seats are almost always open here thanks to OSLF’s hidden location. While the weekends may get rowdy, during the week this spot can provide a tranquil study location save for the occasional train passing by.

Loomis Laboratory for Physics
The outdoor study tables at Loomis Laboratory are located on the south side of the building. A plethora of food trucks can be found down the street most days, making this the perfect place for students who like to grab a quick study snack. Loomis also boasts lots of greenery, from bushes, to flowers, to trees. While the classes here are known to cause lots of stress, the outside provides a scenic and relaxing place to work.
